My first contact with the perfumes made by Ermenegildo Zegna happened in Barcelona in 2003. It was there where I discovered Essenza di Zegna, the first scent of the Italian house, focused exclusively on aromas for men. Last year, during our vacation to the Catalan city, I had the opportunity to test their latest fragrance.
Zegna Forte was introduced in 2010 to celebrate the brand centennial in tradition and passion for quality. Announced as an oriental scent “The Zegna Man Forte man evokes a seductive power that defines the code of a deep and authentic charism”, according to the description from the official website. On another level, Zegna Forte symbolizes the final products released by Zegna in agreement with L’Oreal (which expired in 2011) and the foundation for their new joint venture with Estée Lauder.
I am a fan of Zegna fragrances (had 2 perfumes in my collection over the years!) therefore my interest for their latest release was huge. Too bad the distribution is exclusive. Tested on my skin, Zegna Forte exhibited a very pleasant projection. The scent is fine constructed and if I had to choose between this and Zegna Intenso (my all time favorite), I would probably go for the latest release. The perfume includes strong masculine accords which are captivating and confer a feeling of fresh sensuality.
Zegna Forte opens on ginger and pink pepper in a blend of grapefruit and citruses that transmit a refreshing sensation. Then, the mid development combines the sweet note of white honey with distinctive tobacco accord and lavender for a persuasive impression. After a couple of hours, this construction dries down to warm amber mixed with woodsy notes and Tonka bean.
The bottle that holds Zegna Forte comes in dark shades in order to bestow the fragrance’s image with elegance infused in sensuality. This fragrance is an excellent choice for a stylish man, accustomed to quality.
