Among the classics in fashion industry, there is a house established in 1960 by the Italian designer Valentino Garavani that bears the name Valentino Spa. After gaining some popularity in fashion, since 1979, Valentino introduced the fragrances initially in collaboration with Procter & Gamble and starting with 2010, under an agreement with Puig.
Intended as a signature scent, Very Valentino was presented in 1998 as a floral green fragrance, developed by perfumer Daniela Roche-Andrier. The source of inspiration was found in the glamorous designs of the fashion house that made history through the years. The result is dedicated to the modern, elegant woman, who is provocative, sensual and natural born stylish. I do not have a favorite from Valentino perfumes, but if I was to choose one, this would definitely be Very Valentino.
I tested Very Valentino 6 years after its release and I discovered a well-behaved scent that could be the answer in case you are searching for a daily fragrance that differentiates you from the crowd. For the opening, there were employed exclusively citruses. The blend of bergamot, mandarin orange, tarragon and orange pours refreshing energy into your senses. Next, there comes the heart in a mixture of Lily-of-the-Valley, jasmine, Rose and magnolia. The dry down encompasses a combination of warm sandalwood, sweet vanilla, amber and white musk.
Very Valentino comes in a bottle that is manufactured from bright metal and glass. The perfectly cut edges are complemented by the frozen glass stopper with pyramid shape, while the perfume’s brand is engraved on a transparent plate in the middle of the bottle. The video advertisement puts under spotlight the unique character of the fragrance. Overall, Very Valentino represents the everyday type of fragrance that’s got something extra.
