Versace Man Eau Fraiche – A Fresh Fragrance

Fragrance Review

Eau Fraiche was introduced in 2006, as a flanker to 2003’s . This masculine fragrance was developed by perfumer as a fresher and more aquatic version of the original. This new scent is associated to a vibe, which represents a classic theme in the Italian perfumery.

The construction of is built upon the combination of citrus, woody and spicy accords, which produced a modern and sensual woody aquatic cocktail. The fragrance opens on an intoxicating fruity combination that feels totally refreshing. Top notes are carambola, white lemon, and rosewood. Then, as the fragrance advances to its mid development stage, it turns to a more herbal facet, sustained by the blend of cedar leaves, tarragon and sage. The dry down is warmer and more personal, thanks to the combination of woody and musky accords. Base notes are: sycamore, and amber.

Man Eau Fraiche is hosted in a bottle that reminds of the Man’s flask. The transparent iced turquoise shaded bottle is totally lacking the masculine character, in my opinion, due to its V-shape girlish decorations that are adorning the rims. Anyway, the packaging box is replicating the pattern, with the same color scheme as the glass. The video commercial is short and simple, keeping the focus on the fragrance, instead of hiring a VIP to represent the fragrance. Overall, Versace Man Eau Fraiche is a fragrance for a man who wants something fresh and does not have great expectations from his life.
