Fragrance Review

Eau de Parfum was a perfume introduced by the Italian fashion house back in 2009. And I said “was” because reportedly, as part of the new deal with , established in 2010, all the previous fragrances of the company produced under the license of and then were discontinued. Anyway, this feminine perfume is described as a and at the time of its introduction it was advertised as “a new fragrance which captured the inherent femininity and timeless heritage of the Italian luxury fashion brand”.

I remember that this scent was quite aggressive promoted in stores on the launching occasion, therefore I took the opportunity and test it right away. Apart from the usual floral accords, which you will find in the large majority of this type of perfumes, Valentino Eau de Parfum introduces a less common ingredient, rice vapour, which in combination with mimosa “reflects the dynamic spirit of the modern Valentino woman and signals contemporary elegance and luxury”.

The olfactory construction of Valentino Eau de Parfum opens on a floral-fruity blend of magnolia, pear blossom and pomelo. Then, in a couple of minutes the mid development kicks in with soft floral accords that include orange blossom, mimosa and violet leaves. The final phase of Valentino Eau de Parfum is reserved to the aforementioned ingredient, rice vapour, mixed with heliotrope notes and vanilla orchid.

The bottle that contains the fragrance exhibits a sophisticated shape, with nice curves that bring to mind the silhouette of e female body and a transparent glass with a nice pattern, revealing a pink liquid. Overall, Valentino Eau de Parfum is an elegant fragrance, ideal for both day and evening wear.
