Fragrance Review

Tuscan Leather is one of the 12 fragrances presented in 2007 that inaugurated a luxury perfumery line from called . As part of the leather olfactory group, this fragrance represents an elegant unisex scent, developed by two perfumers: and . The passion for quality and the exclusivist character of was perfectly explained by Tom Ford, who declared: “ is my own scent laboratory; it’s where I have the ability to create very special, original fragrances that are unconstrained by the conventions of mainstream scent-making”.

As a result, you imagine that the distribution is as well restricted to selected stores. Fortunately for me, I managed to sniff Tuscan Leather last summer in , during our holiday in this beautiful Catalan capital. I should tell you from the start that my expectations were extremely high and once more, I was not disappointed by Tom Ford.

The composition of this fragrance was elaborated with the finest ingredients, aimed to confer a pure, however understated sensuality to the final product. Tuscan Leather opens on a blend of saffron, thyme and raspberry, to continue in the mid development with the distinctive aroma of juxtaposed by night blooming jasmine. For the dry down, the leather becomes prominent in a combination with black suede and amber wood.

The bottle that holds the fragrance has a shape that brings to mind the old recipients employed for preserving rare essences. The golden label placed on the bottle confers it a touch of exclusivity. Tuscan Leather is a perfume reserved for a true perfume fanatic, a person who has enough knowledge to appreciate this fine essence.
