Fragrance Review

If you love for Men, you will adore for Men Extreme. This is an fragrance introduced in 2007 as the more powerful version of the debut male scent from Tom Ford which benefitted from a huge popularity. And given that Tom Ford products are hard to get by, I barely had an opportunity to test this excellent perfume last summer (thanks to airports duty free shops), occasion on which I was convinced that this would be the perfume from the house which is more appropriate for me.

Top notes of Tom Ford for Men Extreme are: basil, coriander, chamomile, cardamom, cinnamon bark, Persian lemon and cistus. Then, there the heart, which lists: Parma violet, black plum, Atlas cedarwood, sandalwood, saffron, thyme and Italian Brogiotto black fig. And finally, the base notes: rum essence, Haitian vetiver, caramel, vanilla, black truffle, fir balsam, leather, amber, patchouli and precious (deemed the finest incense in the world).

From all these 3 development stages I enjoyed particularly the dry down, in which the aroma of caramel fights for prominence subdued by the elegant note of incense (I simply love the perfumes based on incense and woody accords). Tom Ford for Men Extreme comes in a bottle which is a re-interpretation of the classic shape of TFM bottle, made from the same ribbed glass, this time in dark amber chocolate color scheme and a black packaging box with golden motifs. Two golden plates are adorning the bottle and the box respectively, while the first one’s neck sports a golden ring in the same hue as the plates.

Overall, Tom Ford for Men Extreme is the type of dedicated to the sophisticated customer who appreciates a fine perfume and is characterized by a truly impeccable style.
