Thierry Mugler’s Ice*Men is one more iteration in the popular A*Men line of masculine fragrances, which was introduced in the year 1996. This new perfume arrived on the market in September 2007 (April in Europe!), was developed by perfumer Jacques Huclier and belongs to the woody aromatic olfactory group, having a structure based on the fresh patchouli accord. The scent was introduced in the same time with Eau de Star, a new feminine fragrance, reportedly similar with Angel Innocent.
Moreover, Ice*Men is said to be identical to 2006’s A*Men Summer Flash, a yearly limited edition. I managed to sample Ice*Men 4 years ago, occasion on which I discovered a well made fragrance, ideal for the summer hot days, a period when a sensation of refreshment is valuable.
The patchouli which represents the dominant note in this construction is different from the same accord encountered in Narciso Rodriguez for Him (one of my musk favorites). Placed next to A*Men, this fresh scent embodies the type of “summer edition fragrance” that could be an excellent gift suggestion.
The listed notes of Ice*Men include: musk, woodsy notes, nutmeg and of course the already mentioned patchouli. The image of Ice*Men is very interesting, exhibited by the soft blue transparent glass which looks like recently broken and the color scheme that brings to mind the freshness and purity of a glacier ice. With respect to availability, it seems that Ice*Men is a scent which is hard to get by, which makes it very probable to find it online.
