Salvatore Ferragamo’s Signorina is excellently depicted by its name. This fragrance is a floral fruity feminine, described on the official website as “the celebration of chic girls with a sophisticated, subtle cheeky and fresh scent signature”. Introduced in February this year as a creation of perfumers Sophie Labbe and Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Signorina represents the Italian translation for “young woman” and is the girlish olfactory accessory that is perfect for this summer.
Because my wife agreed (again!) to sample Signorina for me, I was able to detect all the aromas of this “perfect alliance of elegance and memorability”, according to the characterization from the same source. The first accords from Signorina reminded me that I was testing a floral scent aimed at the young feminine audience. The listed ingredients for the top notes are currant, pink pepper and green notes. The mid development brought a shift to the soft floral facet, substantiated by jasmine, peony and rose accords. In the end, these accords dry down to a musky woody base, filled with gourmand panna cotta note, offset by patchouli and musk.
The bottle that contains Signorina has a rectangular shape which brings to mind a box for storing jewels. This image of discrete elegance is complemented gracefully by a chic stopper, which is re-interpreting the famous Ferragamo’s Vara bow in a color scheme with variations of pink shade and adorned with a golden sphere.
For portraying the image of Signorina, an Italian supermodel was chosen. Bianca Balti is featured in a romantic video advertisement dominated by the same chromatic that is showcased by the perfume’s image.
