The classic style and sophistication that made famous Salvatore Ferragamo Fashion House is perfectly embodied by this fragrance. It’s a shame that is almost extinct these days, because this rich perfume represents one important accessory that confers class to the fashion choice of a woman.
Salvatore Ferragamo pour Femme was introduced in 1998 as a chypre fruity fragrance developed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier. I had the chance to test this on a blotter while I was in a Sephora store and it gave me the expected pleasant impression.
The opening of this fragrance feels like green and citrus with notes of bergamot, neroli, grapefruit, star anise, cassia, green leaves, coconut, pomegranate blossom and black currant. The heart reveals a spicy character, in a mixture of pepper, spices, nutmeg, peony, Rose, Lily-of-the-Valley, Brazilian Rosewood, carnation and iris. The sensation is pungent, however not offensive. For the dry down, I could detect musk in a blend of vetiver, raspberry, sandalwood, exotic woods, sweet almond and cedar.
The bottle of Salvatore Ferragamo pour Femme is infused with the elegance that turned into the symbol of this house. The white transparent glass comes with a metallic stopper that has a small, yet precious detail, the brand’s logo engraved right beside the cap. This image is fine completed by the white packaging box on which the name “Salvatore Ferragamo” is printed in red, for contrast. For what it’s worth, Salvatore Ferragamo pour Femme is a classic fragrance that should belong to your collection, due to its unmistakable style that defines you as a fashion expert.
