Introduced in 2009 as a woody fragrance, F by Ferragamo Black is a flaker to 2007’s F by Ferragamo Pour Homme. Developed by perfumer Olivier Polge, the son of famous Jacques Polge, this scent was created “for the sensual, metropolitan, more mysterious man”, as described in the official website.
Having considered these and taking into account that the only Ferragamo scent in my collection until present time was Subtil Pour Homme, it’s only natural to feel keen to test it. After the sampling phase and due to the pleasant impression, I thought of buying it, however, the idea was never completed. The fact is that F by Ferragamo Black is a sophisticated and intense signature scent, perfect for the special nights.
The fragrance opens with an obvious aroma of apple, juxtaposed by lavender, which makes the first impression memorable. Then, as the perfume unveils its facet, you will detect the aroma of black pepper and coriander seeds, present in the mid development. For the final phase, labdanum was mixed with Tonka bean, to provide an intense trail, imbued with se sensuality.
The bottle that holds F by Ferragamo Black is replicating the interesting shape introduced with F by Ferragamo Pour Homme, this time the base is painted in black. The packaging box preserves the same color scheme, in an image that is contrasting with the silver shade of the perfume’s name and the red hue from Salvatore Ferragamo’s logo. Overall, F by Ferragamo Black is the scent to have in your wardrobe if you want to look impeccable at special occasions.
