Due to the fact that Salvatore Ferragamo convinced me with a couple of interesting fragrances in the past (F by Ferragamo Black, Subtil Pour Homme), I sampled with high hoped their most recent launch in the men department. Sadly, Attimo Pour Homme turned out to be quite disappointing.
This new masculine scent was introduced in October 2011, as the logical extension of its feminine version, arrived on the market in 2010. Belonging to the oriental woody olfactory group, Attimo Pour Homme is “a woody sensual essence that embodies the masculine facets of Salvatore Ferragamo’s distinctive style”, according to the description from the official website.
For that reason, the marketing campaign features the Italian actor Alessandro Gassman and this picture that reflects masculinity is perfectly matched by the flacon that holds the fragrance, conceived by the famous designer Sylvie de France. The bottle has a rectangular shape and is made from transparent grey glass, while being topped by a stopper with similar appearance and an accompanying packaging box with a white, grey and black color scheme.
Sadly, after all these promising attributes, I would expected more, but I discovered that Attimo Pour Homme is, in my opinion, a linear fragrance, the type of well-behaved scent that is not able to distinguish itself from the multitude of mainstream fragrances. Attimo Pour Homme begins on an aromatic blend that combines the accords of mandarin with notes of marjoram. Later, as the perfume enters mid development, it turns to a spicy facet, thanks to the combination of saffron, cardamom and pimento (cherry pepper). The masculine character of Attimo Pour Homme is revealed in the dry down, which encompasses cistus, white musk, patchouli and vetiver.
