Roberto Cavalli for Women is the debut fragrance from the famous Italian fashion designer, arrived on the market in 2002 and classified as a woody floral musk. Sadly, it seems that as part of the company’s new deal with Coty, applicable from 2011 (the anterior agreement was with ICR-ITF), all the fragrances launched prior to this date are irremediably discontinued.
As a result, Roberto Cavalli for Women is the reflection of the materials with animal inspiration adored by the designer Cavalli: leather and snakeskin. The shape of the bottle is elongated, made from transparent glass and revealing a pink-colored liquid, while introducing one of the Cavalli’s symbols in fashion: a serpent. The packaging box exhibits a pattern of snakeskin that comes in the same color scheme as the bottle.
Analyzed from the olfactory point of view Roberto Cavalli for Women contains all the elements of an olfactory pyramid. There are present the top, heart and base notes that shaped the floral woody musk character of this perfume. Roberto Cavalli for Women starts off with a citrus blend of bergamot and tangerine, juxtaposed to delicate touch of magnolia and the freshness of red apple. Then, as the initial notes subside, the mid development kicks in with a floral facet that includes notes of may rose, freesia, wild orchid and Diastella. Eventually, this whole construction dries down to a base composed of musky accords and precious woods: amber, musk, patchouli, cedarwood and Indian sandalwood.
