A fragrance from the 90’s, Polo Sport from Ralph Lauren embodies perfectly the spirit of active man, preoccupied by sport activities. Moreover, this sporty fragrance reminds me of the training hours in the gym, when your only focus is the development of the muscular mass.
Introduced in 1994, Polo Sport is an aromatic green fragrance, developed by perfumer Harry Fremont. Meant for the target group which is represented by the sportive men between 20 and 45 years of age, Polo Sport symbolized as well the launching of the new Lauren men sportswear. Both the new line of clothing and the fragrance were fronted by American model and actor Tyson Beckford, who managed to capture the spirit of the perfume: active character with style.
I sampled Polo Sport very late, in 2008; however I discovered a fragrance that offers you the confidence to accept new challenges related to the sports domain. Polo Sport begins with a pungent shot of citrus notes obtained from bergamot and lemon that were mixed with mint and neroli. The sensation of freshness is aimed at awaking your senses. The mid development features the combination of Brazilian rosewood, jasmine, sea grass and ginger, while the base includes notes of sandalwood, musk, amber and cedar. The dominant notes in Polo Sport are represented by musk and mint, which confer it the fresh character.
Polo Sport arrived in a bottle made from transparent glass with a blue hue, which brings to mind immediately the apparent calm of the ocean, while the stopper contains another reference to the domain of fitness center, with its shape that evokes the barbells. Overall, Polo Sport is a fragrance designed for the active man, who wants to add a little bit of style into his sporty life.
