Fragrance Review

Polo Red White & Blue is the first to the popular 2003’s Polo Blue. Arrived on the market in December 2009 and reportedly “inspired by snowy sloped and winter sports”, this fragrance belongs to the olfactory group. In fact, to be more accurate, Polo Blue was also a flanker, this time to the iconic 1978’s Polo, one of the most interesting classic fragrances I ever smelled.

On the official website, Polo Red White & Blue is described with the phrase “a cooler variation of Polo Blue, this crisp tonic exudes pure strength, instant vibrancy and freshness” and this pretty much defines its style. Moreover, it was advertised as a fragrance with “adrenaline inducing notes” and to me it seemed an interesting scent, except this is not among my favorites from .

I sampled Polo Red White & Blue last summer, while I was browsing the shelves of in search for something new and from the first accords it struck me with its combination of cucumber and red apple in the top notes. The aroma of red apple is OK, however I do not fancy cucumber in my perfumes, therefore I labeled the opening as a little dull. Luckily, within a couple of minutes the mid development unveiled a floral facet thanks to the mix of lavender tonic and sage which developed quite interesting on the skin. The final part happened after more than one hour, carrying warm and soothing notes of white woods and white musk.

The flacon that contains Polo Red White & Blue is the Polo’s signature bottle, adorned with red and white diagonal stripes and the famous polo player’s logo in oversize dimension. The cap of the flask is golden and the packaging box comes in matching color scheme.
