The olfactory creations from Designer Shaik are hard to get by , therefore I recommend you to sample them at any time you are offered with his opportunity. I was lucky enough to test every one of their two masculine fragrances released so far, and subsequent to these tests I felt transported into an oriental world of magic and mystery, combined with the quality attribute that become representative for the artisanal perfumery.
The Bahrain-based retailer of luxury goods introduced its line of fragrances in 2007, with a duo called Opulent Shaik, which included the feminine counterpart, No. 33 and its masculine and No. 77. One year later this line was followed by Chic Shaik, from which I have already written about Chic Shaik No. 70.
Opulent Shaik No. 77 is an oriental spicy which reportedly includes a number of approximately 150 ingredients, besides musk, labdanum and vanilla, in order to create a long persistence and a fresh character. This is a pungent and luscious masculine scent that exhibits an unparalleled complexity in the oriental world of perfumery. The vanilla accords and combined with the woody base and you are pleasantly surprised by the green outset, juxtaposed to the aromas of lemon and lavender that may be perceived within a couple of minutes from the first whiff. In the dry down and the extreme dry down I detected the note of patchouli, coupled with the obvious musk.
Following the tradition of any great Arabic perfume, the flacon that contains Opulent Shaik No. 77 is very intricate and comes adorned with the company’s crest and a metal cap. The packaging box is wrapped as a gift and decorated with a luxury ribbon.
