I’m sure you’ve heard here before that I feel attracted towards the stories behind the process of creating memorable essences and sometimes these pleasant stories conceived by the marketing teams of the respective houses match exactly with my taste. One of these stories involve the Italian perfumery house Nobile 1942 and the perfume Vespriesperidati.
The story of this niche house begins in the year 1942, when Umberto Nobile, inspired by the beautiful things of life, was establishing in Rome, the house that will bear the name Nobile 1942. According to the description found on their official website, from the “name that was always synonymous with luxury fragrances”, the perfumes manufactured by Nobile 1942 include essential oils as ingredients, produced in conformity with the “natural processes of steeping, filtering and distillation”. One major detail is the fact that the processes of packaging, labeling and bottling are made by hand and every product is delivered with its personal certificate of authenticity.
It is obvious that, after testing the fragrance and discovering this interesting story I placed Vespriesperidati on top of my “to buy list”. Sadly, very soon I realized that the Carthusia fragrances are irreplaceable items in my collection, therefore I abandoned Nobile 1942. Vespriesperidati was introduced in 2008, as a woody aromatic masculine fragrance, developed by perfumer Marie Duchene. The source of inspiration for the perfume and its name comes from a drama in five acts called “Les vêpres siciliennes” (French for “The Sicilian Vespers”), composed by Giuseppe Verdi.
Vespriesperidati opens on an enchanting blend of citruses with mandarin orange, Amalfi lemon and bergamot. Then, as the top notes begin to vanish, the mid development unveils a floral facet, showcased by lavender, French labdanum, geranium, rosemary and juniper. To conclude this structure, the base notes encompass a mixture of Tonka bean, warm amber and white musk.
The bottle that holds Vespriesperidati highlights its handmade feature, in which the transparent bottle reveals a pale yellow liquid while sporting the label done by hand. Overall, Vespriesperidati is an excellent fragrance, capable of providing strong olfactory pleasures.
