Fragrance Review

, the Italian fashion design house established in 1983 by the late become popular due to its provocative and colorful design. The early death of the founder, considered the Jean-Paul Gaultier of Italian fashion, conferred upon the business the aura of a legend. The line of fragrances debuted in 1987 with a feminine scent, named Moschino, however in spite of the good image, I was never tempted to try any of the Moschino fragrances.

Until one day, when a fresh launch (at that time!) got me interested. Friends Men is a masculine fragrance introduced in 2005 and developed by perfumer . My pleasant impression was conferred by the combination of citrus in the beginning and the woody trail.

Friends Men opens with an intoxication blend of bergamot, pomegranate blossom and . Later, the mid development unveils the sweet character, for which , pelargonium and petitgrain from Paraguay were employed. The base notes encompass cedar and Tahitian vetiver for warming up the atmosphere. In the development of the scent, the dominant citrus and the woody accords are subdued by green and fresh spicy tones.

The bottle of Friends Men evokes the design lines made famous by Moschino fashion; the transparent bottle reveals a liquid with soft yellow color, while being topped by a metallic stopper. The name “Moschino” is printed on a chromatic that evokes the Italian flag, thus being a hint to the company’s legacy. Friends Men from Moschino is a quite OK perfume, suitable for the young man with an accentuated sense of fashion that is appropriate in any time of the day.
