When I urged my wife to sample Legend Pour Femme, the most recent feminine creation from Montblanc, I had no idea that I will appreciate this scent so much. Come to think about it, the most powerful reason behind my discovery is actually motivated by the fact that Legend Pour Femme is filled with elegance and class, as one perfume dedicated (according to the description from the press release!) to a limited group of feminine fashion icons: Greta Garbo, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman (which reportedly, were all three, the source of inspiration that generated such an aroma!).
Arrived on the market in August 2012 as a feminine counterpart to 2011’s Montblanc Legend, this new perfume called Legend Pour Femme belongs to the floral woody musk olfactory group and was developed by perfumers Bernard Ellena (the younger brother of the famous Jean-Claude Ellena from Hermes) and Natalie Feisthauer. And since the bottle is virtually one of the first things that pop into one’s mind, as soon as you decide that you feel like sampling a perfume, my attention was captured by the stylish flacon containing Legend Pour Femme.
This bottle exhibited an elaborated silhouette in which the transparent glass with a pearly-like hue was adorned with a couple of motifs, which were also encountered on the perfume’s cap. The silver color scheme of the stopper complemented beautifully this ensemble, while everything came contained in a box that matched the flacon’s color. As declared in the official press release, the complex silhouette of the flacon was inspired by Montblanc’s jewelry collection called 4810, a name standing for the height of the famous mountain in meters and also a recurring theme for the German manufacturer of luxury goods.
Moving on to the most interesting part of this review (as I’m sure you all want to read about the olfactory experience!), I was delighted from the beginning by an olfactory pyramid shaped perfectly by the team of perfumers. The opening brings forward a combination of citruses (official notes: bitter orange, neroli and pear) that pervade for about 10 minutes, after which it was replaced by a floral facet, employed in order to render the perfume with the needed touch of femininity. The official heart notes encompass jasmine, Lily-of-the-valley and orange blossom. Following the phases, in no longer than one hour, the dry down became perceivable thanks to a sensual combination that involved sweet accords and woody notes (vanilla, musk and blonde woods).
Overall, Montblanc Pour Femme is a stylish and elegant fragrance that will appeal to those very special ladies that have a way of making an impression based solely on their confidence and charisma.
