Mont Blanc Legend – The Image of Masculinity

Mont Blanc Legend_100ml

Fragrance Review

When it comes to elegance there are 2 very similar fragrances that arrived on the market approximately in the same time. These are Custom by and Legend and were both introduced in April 2011. I can not say which one is my favorite, because I like them both, but for now I will talk about Legend.

Mont Blanc, the well known German company, famous for its and fine writing instruments makes a commitment with the launch of Legend, aimed at presenting its legacy in the light of the new millennium. Mont Blanc’s logo, the “” shape that accompanies each product since 1913 was inspired by the highest peak in the Alps and Western Europe, the peak of Mont Blanc, and represents a guarantee that the legend will pass on.

Mont Blanc is an aromatic fougere fragrance designed by perfumer Olivier Pescheux. The scent feels subtle on the skin, but projects the image of masculinity, characteristic for the strong men. The start comes with fruity accords that convey a sensation of freshness: bergamot, , pineapple leaf and lavender. Then, the citruses slowly fade away to leave space for the middle notes, a combination of red , rose, geranium, oakmoss and coumarin. Finally, the base is composed of tonka bean, sandalwood and evernyl. I was able to detect 3 dominant notes in the construction of Legend: lavender, oakmoss and red .

The bottle of Legend exhibits another proof of the company’s craftsmanship: the combination of black and metallic colors shaped in the curved bottle is meant to evoke the legendary pen design, manufactured from metal and glass. This is the essence of a minimalistic and that is captured by Legend. For the ad campaign the famous German photographer was employed. Lindbergh constructed a universe in black and white, relevant for the heights of Mont Blanc, which features the British male model .
