Miss Dior Chérie is a feminine fragrance belonging to the chypre fruity olfactory group, introduced in 2005 and developed by perfumer Christine Nagel. As a significant detail, the man responsible with the process of creation was the famous British fashion designer John Galliano. The scent represents as well a tribute to the iconic Miss Dior, launched by the French fashion house in 1947.
The structure of the fragrance revolves around the idea of chypre, juxtaposed by some gourmand notes, present in the heart. Miss Dior Chérie begins with a combination of green tangerine, strawberry leaves and violet, followed by a mid development that encompasses the blend of pink jasmine, wild strawberry, popcorn and caramel. After a couple of hours, in the dry down it is detectable an aroma of warm amber, swathed by patchouli and crystalline musk. The genial touch of Mr. Galliano is noticeable during the development stages of this scent, a creation that combines classicism and sweetness.
The bottle in which Miss Dior Chérie was presented is a re-interpretation of the classic, in which you will identify the design lines of Dior. The little bow that adorns the neck’s bottle is completed by the transparent glass, revealing a pale orange hue liquid. The elegant transparent stopper completes this fine imagine. The new face of the advertising campaign is the American actress Natalie Portman (a totally uninspired selection if you’ll ask me, after her statement from last year, when she missed a good opportunity to shut up!). The resulted video was realized by the acclaimed director Sofia Coppola (who is not at first association with the brand) and reflects the playful character of the fragrance.
