Si Lolita tells the story of a young woman, who lives in the “City of Lights” and wants to have fun, or as putted in the description from the press release, is “meant to have an air of Parisian bohemian chic along with little girl whimsy”. Arrived on the market in August 2009, Si Lolita represents the Lolita Lempicka’s steer towards a less mature audience, compared to the majority of previous launches.
I sampled this perfume last year in the summer, and from the first whiff on my wife’s skin it leaded me to imagine a creation which is playful, yet with moderation, in order not to upset the traditional feminine clientele of the brand. Si Lolita belongs to the floral olfactory group (in fact it is a spicy floral) and was developed by perfumers Christina Nagel and Benoist Lapouza. The source of inspiration is once again the Mother Nature with its wonders, this time being the four-leaf clover.
And, on the official website, the fragrance tells “the secret spicy freshness of sweet pea”. Si Lolita starts of with an invigorating blend between citruses (mandarin and bergamot) and spices (pink pepper). Then, as this refreshing note subsides, you are able to detect the soft floral aroma of sweet pea, juxtaposed to heliotrope accord. The final phase is the moment in which Si Lolita turns to a spicy base, thanks to the elemi gum note, offset by a combination of amber, patchouli and Tonka bean.
The bottle that contains Si Lolita is reportedly “inspired by Nature and Couture”. Having the shape of the four-leaf clover and with sensuous curves, the bottle is showcased by a golden hue and decorated at the neck with a scarf with floral and polka-dot pattern.
