Ever since I had Au Masculin Fraicheur in my collection, I analyzed carefully each new launch from Lolita Lempicka, hoping that someday I will find again a creation strong enough to induce me a buying thought. L’Eau au Masculin deserves the attention, as a composition built around one of the nature’s fundamental elements: the water.
Introduced in 2010, L’Eau au Masculin is a woody floral musk fragrance advertised as a fresher edition of its elder relative, Au Masculin from 2000. According to the description found on the official website “L’Eau au Masculin is the fragrance of Men who are pure at heart, of men seeking the essential”.
I remember testing the scent last summer (obviously in a Sephora store!) and being quite surprised of the well balanced ingredients that shaped a vibrant scent, based on the violet wood. L’Eau au Masculin starts off with a blend of lemon verbena, pink pepper and lemon. At this point, there is evident the unmistakable citrus aroma. Then, in no more than 20 minutes, the top notes disappear and are replaced by a woody heart, founded on violet wood accord and jasmine petals. For the final part, the atmosphere becomes cozier, in a combination of musk, Japanese vetiver and olive wood.
The flask of L’Eau au Masculin is re-interpreting the lines from Au Masculin, this time the frosted glass being decorated in an energetic shade of green, adorned with embossed ivy leaves, an emblem of Lolita Lempicka. Overall, L’Eau au Masculin is a perfume appropriate for summer and spring days, ready to offer you a burst of freshness.
