Lolita Lempicka Eau du Desir – A Reinterpretation of the Violet Flower

Fragrance Review

Introduced by in March 2010, Eau du Desir is a feminine fragrance, described on the official website with the phrase: “A new story is joining Lolita’s collection of fairy tales for women: ‘Eau du Désir’, the new to satisfy women’s craving for an Eau with sensual freshness”. The perfume was presented as and in 100 ml Eau de Toilette, in which the main featured notes were citrus and floral.

As for the presentation, the iconic flacon in the shape of an apple exhibits a more elongated form at this time, being  manufactured from a glass which is partial transparent, and therefore able to reveal a liquid with a purple shade that is reminiscent of the violet accord that dominates the structure. The symbol of the brand, the ivy, is still decorating the bottle, while being accompanied by intertwining violets; the packaging box is similar to the original.

Eau du Desir starts off with a pungent blend of citron and lemon verbena, meant to awake your senses and provide the ideal background for the upcoming phases. Then, it is time for a mid development stage, imbued with the accords of violet, offset by Sambac jasmine aroma. The final phase, the dry down leaves a sensual, pleasant and opulent trail of musk on the skin, while rendering the perfume with quite an average persistence.

Overall, for the women who love the iconic Lolita Lempicka Le Premier Parfum, Eau du Desir might constitute an interesting alternative, as a fresher, spring and even summer version of their beloved fragrance.
