L’Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme – Adding Power to the Memory Extension
After the launching from 2004, L’Instant de Guerlain needed a powerful addition to its line therefore in 2005 L’Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme was launched. This strong woody spicy fragrance for men was developed by perfumer Beatrice Piquet, being centered on gourmand notes of cacao.
“An awakening of senses”, according to the description on the official website, L’Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme is a “woody, sparkling, seductive perfume composed of contrasts”. This fragrance is the type of elegant perfume that embodies the Guerlain tradition in perfumery, being ideal for the man with a developed notion of style. I tested L’Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme in the same day with L’Instant de Guerlain and even though both matched to my taste, I was more delighted with the perfume version.
Top notes in L’Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme are represented by refreshing citrus, star anise and elemi. In the mid development, the initial notes are fading away slowly, to be replaced with floral accords obtained from mixing exquisite neroli with jasmine and tea. And to conclude, a combination of Myosore sandalwood, hibiscus, cacao, Virginia cedar and patchouli are featured in the dry down.
L’Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme represents a more intense variation of the original for which the cacao accords were accentuated. On with the same level of perfecting the image department, the bottle received a fresh image, with a stylish black rim added over the inferior part of the fragrance bottle. Apart from this detail, you could not tell apart one from the other, given that the inscription “Extreme Fragrance” is featured exclusively on the box.
