Today I will speak about L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport, the new fragrance introduced by Issey Miyake in March this year. As I was telling you yesterday, until this moment, this fresh fragrance remains my favorite from the quite long list of scents that lately have the word “sport” associated to their names. Of course, one possible explanation for my attraction towards this perfume could be as well the fact that L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme was one of my first fragrances, during a time when I wasn’t that passionate about essences, nor I read so many things related.
So, L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport is a flanker to 1994’s L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme, however this denomination fails to describe thoroughly this masculine woody aromatic, developed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier, the same who authored the original. I sampled this perfume in Douglas last Saturday, then on Sephora (because Sephora is my favorite fragrance retailer!) initially on paper, afterwards on my wrist and I reached to the conclusion that it deserves the no. 1 spot in my Top Sport Fragrances 2012, that is ahead of Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme and Dolce&Gabbana The One Sport.
The introductory phase of L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport represents a refreshing blend of grapefruit and bergamot, destined to confer a shot of energy to the fragrance. Later, as the scent moves ahead into its mid development phase, you will perceive a heart imbued with nutmeg and a hint of leather, which comes as the sensual balance for this composition. The final phase of this fragrance contains vetiver and Virginia cedar for a warmer and more personal character attached to it.
Overall, L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport represents the ideal choice to celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games, throughout a torrid summer, which is together with the spring one of the most beautiful times of the year.
