Fragrance Review

Very popular during the mid ‘90’s, ’s is an masculine fragrance, introduced in 1995. The famous Italian high fashion designer who is also known as “queen of cashmere” started her fragrance line in 1998with , followed by 1992’s Venezia and 1994’s Laura.

Being a fragrance that was inspired by a city renowned for its architecture, Roma per Uomo represents as well a demonstration of the Italian ingenuity when it comes to the art of erecting buildings. The shape of the bottle that holds the fragrance is an allusion to Colosseum, the elliptical amphitheatre from the center of Rome, apart from the hint of Laura Biagiotti’s interest in architecture. The frosted glass from which the flask is manufactured is barely revealing an amber-like liquid, while being topper by a brown stopper; the packaging box comes in a matching dark green color scheme.

Analyzed from the olfactory point of view, Roma per Uomo is the type of pleasant fragrance associated with and the Mediterranean atmosphere. From the outset, a refreshing spicy-citrus note can be detected, thanks to the combination of bergamot, grapefruit, basil and galbanum. Later, as the scent enters the mid development stage, it shifts to a floral facet, in which jasmine accord and balsam fir are playing an important part, juxtaposed to juniperberry notes and heliotrope. In the end, the composition dries down to a woody base which includes sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli and benzoin. The aroma of benzoin is responsible for the pleasant trail.
