Following its feminine version from 2005, Hypnose Homme arrived on the market in 2007 as the most expected launch from Lacome since 2001’s Miracle Homme. For achieving total success, Lancome has employed the charismatic British actor Clive Owen, as the symbol of what Hypnose Homme stands for: magic, power, sensuality.
And I could say that the initial targets were achieved, since this oriental fougere creation of the perfumer Maurice Roucel has got what it takes to make a strong impression and become one of the most appreciated perfumes on the last years. The scent was imagined as a discrepancy between oriental notes and aromatic ones. Marcel Roucel began his creation with fresh notes of Mandarin orange, bergamot, green mint and a hint of cardamom, added in the end for spicing up the combination. The middle notes are composed from the lavender founded in the south of France, mixed with spices and almond note. The base notes inspire elegance, conferred by the patchouli notes from Indonesia, alongside the amber and musk accords. The mandarin accords from the beginning in Hypnose Homme, are balanced by the dominant notes of amber and patchouli, from the dry down.
The bottle of the fragrance evokes a swirl that leads to a sensation of mysterious masculinity. The glass is transparent, sustaining a rectangular black aluminum stopper with the Lancome logo at the top and a liquid which is colored is pale brown.
Hypnose Homme was in my list of favorite perfumes from the beginning, although I never had had the chance to own it. The scent projects that image of the seductive man wrapped in secrecy, the kind of person that attracts the ladies. I would recommend Hypnose Homme for a casual, office wear which makes it perfect for a classic man, in the age group of 30 – 50.
