Signature was introduced by Kenneth Cole in September 2005, as a woody spicy masculine fragrance, developed by perfumer Frank Voelkl. The two attributes that represent this perfume are luxury and sensuality. Signature is the type of scent that is supposedly reflecting your personality and exhibits a complex character, the result being a pleasant aroma that lingers in a closed space, even after you will be long gone.
Signature is a fragrance that I wanted to sample as soon as I read about its existence, however due to the fact that Kenneth Cole has a quite unusual availability policy, I was only able to stumble upon it 4 years ago, in a Douglas store. The occasion revealed to me a very interesting scent, built around the notes of papyrus and guaiac wood, 2 accords responsible for conferring an exquisite trail to this scent.
Signature begins on a combination of fresh grapefruit, cardamom, violet and pimento berries accord. Later, as the top notes are slowly evaporating, the heart appears into the picture, bearing an aroma of deep marine notes, juxtaposed to orris root, water lily and espresso bean. Then, 2 hours were sufficient to enter the dry down, which lead into a mixture of guaiac wood, papyrus, warm amber and pleasant patchouli.
The bottle that holds Signature is made from transparent glass, exhibits curved shapes and reveals a golden amber liquid. The landmark is represented by the stopper, manufactured from precious mahogany wood, thus adding a note of distinction to the image.
