Kenneth Cole fragrances are usually hard to find on the perfumery shelves. As a result, every time I had the chance to test a fragrance launched by this American designer I didn’t think twice. That’s exactly what happened with Reaction, a citrus aromatic fragrance for men introduced in 2004 and developed by perfumer Frank Voelkl. At last, I managed to sample it in 2009 and this was in fact my second sniff of a Kenneth Cole creation since Black from 2003 (sampled in 2004!).
Reaction is intended to express the impulsive facet of Kenneth Cole personality, drawing its inspiration from the contemporary music, technology and Pop culture. The targeted man is embodied by a person who possesses a relaxed attitude, which allows him to enjoy fully the pleasures of life.
On the olfactory level Reaction matches its soft profile, since all the employed ingredients bring to the composition that careless feeling of achievement. The fragrance opens with an explosive blend of lime, melon peel and green apple. Then, as the mid development appears, you will recognize the gentle aroma from the mixture Lily-of-the-Valley with watermelon. Finally, the woody notes from the base are meant to evoke a sexy masculinity. The notes here encompass white musk, patchouli and sandalwood.
Reaction comes is a bottle made from bright transparent glass which adds to the clean aspect of the fragrance. The soft hues of green are creating an electric effect that is pleasant to the eye. The video advertisement features the models Matt Loewen and Alexandra Richards in an electrifying encounter. Overall, Reaction is the perfect type of scent for the careless individuals who do not get depressed by the adversities of life.
