February 2007 marks the arrival on the market of Joop! Go, the new (at that time!) masculine fragrance from the German fashion house of designer and artist Wolfgang Joop. Developed by perfumer Sophie Labbe and belonging to the aromatic fougere olfactory group, Joop! Go is according to the official press release “the youngest and most energetic side of Joop. It’s about the surprised caused by spontaneity and defiance.”
The video commercial for this scent features a young man having fun and jumping over some automatic stairs, while the entire image is dominated by the green shade present on both the scent’s color and the accompanying packaging box, while even the guy’s shirt is matching this chromatic.
Joop! Go starts off with a blend that features a cool and refreshing accord of blood orange, juxtaposed to some rhubarb notes and a hint of chili pepper. Next, after a couple of minutes, the fragrance easily shifts into a soft and more floral phase, in which the note of violet fights for supremacy, offset by accords of bourbon geranium and cypress. The final part represents the moment in which Joop! Go settles down, thus bringing a warm and more personal feeling over this entire structure; the listed base notes encompass spruce balsam and oakmoss.
The flacon that contains Joop! Go represents a shape found in the classic Joop! bottle for masculine perfumes, is made from transparent glass and topped by a stylish silver stopper. The name of the brand and that of the fragrance are printed in the upper part, while the brand’s symbol, an oversized exclamation point, is decorating the entire bottle.
