The debut fragrance from the brilliant designer John Galliano called simply John Galliano by John Galliano has a special spot in my olfactive memory. And because it happens to be one of my wife’s favorites, it entered her “to buy” right away. Inspired by this floral aldehydic perfume and introduced one year later in 2009, the lighter version is called John Galliano by John Galliano Eau de Toilette and was developed this by perfumer Aurelien Guichard.
The description from the official website mentions simply the phrase: “I wanted to create a scent that would capture joie de vivre – and start each day with a spirit that caught the joyful spring in the step on my ever adventuring muse” and because until last summer the occasion to surprise my wife with a gift did not arrived, I decided that I might as well suggest her to test this new version of her beloved fragrance. As a result, while being in a Douglas store, I spray a few whiffs on her wrist.
The listed notes employed for structuring John Galliano by John Galliano Eau de Toilette are rose (in fact rose absolute!), Monaco rose, Italian iris absolute, Moroccan cedar and moss. And only from this enumeration you are able to detect the special character of the fragrance. If the first perfume was impossible to forget, this new eau de toilette takes the floral theme and places around the unmistakable rose to produce an exquisite creation, by no means inferior to its source of inspiration.
The flacon that holds John Galliano by John Galliano Eau de Toilette was designed by the same Joel Desgrippes and features the interesting shape that brings to mind an evening gown (designed of course by John Galliano!). To match the name, the employed color scheme is a pale pink, while the bottle’s neck id decorated with a golden rose.
