My wife is a long-time fanatic of Classique and because over the years I had several occasions for sampling Le Male over my skin, situations in which my interest ranged from “oversweet” to “nice” and finally “worth-a-buy-interesting”, at this moment every new launch from Jean Paul Gaultier is a “must test” for me. Last summer offered me the encounter with a Limited Edition Collector Bottle called Le Male Silver My Skin. Similar to any perfume that comes as Collector Bottle, the composition remained the same only the bottle is the one that has been modified. As a result, still Francis Kurkdjian is the perfumer responsible with the developing process of Le Male Silver My Skin and still this creation belongs to the oriental fougere olfactory group.
As for the packaging, this time the innovative flacon that features a male torso was made from a silver lacquered glass and adorned with green writings that include the perfume’s name. The cylindrical metal box matches the color scheme of the flask, while the available quantity is 125 ml.
Subsequent to spraying a few whiffs on my wrist, Le Male Silver My Skin opened with a refreshing aroma in which the most prominent note came from a combination of mint and bergamot. Upon the vanishing of this blend, the mid development brought a gourmand note of cinnamon, replaced after only 30 minutes by a warm and gentle dry down, mostly woody. Le Male Silver My Skin top notes are Artemisia, lavender, bergamot, cardamom and mint; its heart is cinnamon, caraway and African orange flower; and base notes are vanilla, Tonka bean, sandalwood, Virginia cedar and amber.
The conclusion is that I found Le Male Silver My Skin captivating enough to enter my “to buy” list. Sadly, the acquisition never happened and the prospects are not great.
