Classique, an iconic fragrance and one of Jean Paul Gaultier’s best sellers was launched in 1993. In 2011, to celebrate its 18th anniversary a new flanker was introduced, Classique Silver My Skin. Belonging to the oriental floral olfactory group, this new fragrance was developed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier, the same person who authored the original.
As a told earlier in here, my wife is very fond of Classique (besides Tom Ford Black Orchid!) and, naturally, when she saw last year this new creation from JPG, she couldn’t help to sample it. Fortunately, Jean Paul Gaultier has a long list of special editions that are not giving flankers a bad reputation and this perfume makes no difference.
Classique Silver My Skin is actually a Collectors Edition that comes as an Eau de Toilette which preserves the majority of the initial accords of the first fragrance. The scent begins on a floral fruity blend of pear, rose, star anise, mandarin orange and African orange flower. As the mid development stage takes place, the sensual combination of orchid and iris is fighting for prominence, juxtaposed by plum, ginger and ylang-ylang. The final accords are conferring a warm and personal touch to the structure, because sweet vanilla is mixed with warm amber and white musk in the dry down.
The bottle that holds Classique Silver My Skin replicates the shape and color scheme of the original Classique, while being adorned with the perfume’s name written in pink hue. Due to the fact that the fragrance is supposed be available for a limited time only, it’s only natural that is hard to get by, therefore an acquisition would be an excellent thought.
