Fragrance Review

Yesterday, I took a break for the usual routine and went in search of some new or old fragrances to be tested. The purpose was to refresh a little bit my olfactory memory and one of the subjects of these samplings was Voyage d’Hermès Parfum.

Arrived on the market this March as a flanker to 2010’s Voyage d’Hermès, this is definitely for both genders and in spite of my enthusiasm, it give me sadness to say that is far duller than I’ve expected. Upon spraying it on my wrist the first moments of the scents were very subtle, almost imperceptible. Later, in the mid development Voyage d’Hermès Parfum becomes more obvious however it is the dry down that makes it conspicuous. On top of that, it exhibits less than medium persistence, but on the other hand the original was not a long lasting perfume either.

For me, the only thing that’s remarkable is the bottle, designed as well by , except this time the actual flask was painted in black, a more elegant image compared to the first one. On the official website, this new creation is called “the rewritten story of Pegasus, the winged horse from the Greek mythology”, a version in which notes of rose musk and amber were added, compared to the first journey.

Voyage d’Hermès Parfum top notes are spices, lemon and cardamom; its heart is hedione, tea accords, green notes, floral notes and rose; and base notes are blond wood, combined with amber and musk. The video advertisement brings forward some beautiful and powerful images inspired by nature.
