Flower is precious oriental floral feminine fragrance from Kenzo, perhaps the most popular in its category, built around the poppy note, or, according to the description from the official website, “a poppy with a powdery floral scent, lively and sensual”. Arrived on the market in 2000, the scent was developed by perfumer Alberto Morillas, who managed to create an unusual minimalistic creation, receiver of 2002’s FiFi Award in the category “Women’s Fragrance of the Year – Popular Appeal”. The interesting thing here is that poppy has no scent, yet in spite of this, Kenzo succeeded in the mission for reinventing this aroma.
The entire olfactory structure of Flower by Kenzo is built around three accords, represented by cleverly selected ingredients. As listed on the official website, the three accords are: floral accord, powdery accord and vibrant accord. The first of the three is embodied by rose, violet hawthorn and blackcurrant notes; then comes the second thanks to the combination of vanilla, white musk and opoponax; and finally, there’s the unmistakable aroma of incense.
Flower by Kenzo is a fragrance that promotes the connection between the flower and the city, ideal for a woman who lives in an urban area and wants to spice up her life with a special aroma. The flacon that holds Flower by Kenzo resembles with a modern architectural shape, dominated by a white color scheme and balanced with hints of red and green, employed for representing the poppy flower image. Analyzed from a different perspective, the shape of Flower by Kenzo’s bottle resembles as well with a Japanese sword, a reference in the Nippon culture.
