Fendi is an Italian fashion house, established by Adele Casagrande in 1918. Following her marriage with Edoardo Fendi, the house changed its name to Fendi and became a reference in style these days, a company notorious for its “baguette” handbags.
Fan di Fendi was introduced in 2010 as a floral woody musk feminine fragrance, developed by perfumers Delphine Lebeau-Krowiak and Francois Demachy. The scent has an ostentatious image, which is impossible to ignore, advertised in the official website with the tagline “the fragrance you just adore to adore”. My wife helped me by testing this scent on her skin and passing over my initial reticence (I do not like flashy products!) I discovered a nice floral enveloped by an interesting leather note, which confers class to the structure.
Fan di Fendi opens on an intoxicating blend of pear, blackcurrant, Calabrian tangerine and pink pepper from Reunion Islands. Then, in no more than 20 minutes, Fan di Fendi shifts to a gentle and feminine base, filled with Damascus Rose, jasmine and Indian tuberose. In the end, the dry down reveals the essence of this fragrance, the leather note mixed with a provocative patchouli accord for creating a sexy and long lasting trail.
The woman who wears Fan di Fendi is something special, like the fragrance itself. To reflect this aspiration, the perfume was presented in a bottle, which is best described on the official website, with the phrase “a pure object of desire”. The shape of the flask was inspired by the iconic Baguette bag the glass is transparent revealing a golden liquid, while the color scheme is also golden. The video commercial emphasizes the glamorous character of the fragrance featuring 3 models: Anja Rubik, Abbey Lee Kershaw and Karmen Pedaru.
