Fragrance Review

Since there are many types of fragrances out there, each suitable for a moment of the day, mood or season, one has to be careful when selecting an aroma. My personal theory is to choose depending on your mood; however I feel that this should be entirely up to you. Hence, I might suggest you one of my recent discoveries from the category named “quiet, yet with class”, which is Sensuous Noir from Estee Lauder.

Arrived on the market in 2010, as a feminine (according to the company’s own classification), Sensuous Noir is a to 2008’s Sensuous. This fragrance represents the evening version of the latter, a darker and more infused with floral accords if you like, which makes it a perfect choice in case you loved the original. The dark facet is not too obvious in here therefore you should not be worry with respect to this feature.

Moreover, as with any creation from Estee Lauder the quality factor is there and for this occasion the perfumers developed a scent that goes with many events. The official listed notes are purple rose, jasmine, black pepper, melted woods nature print, crème noir accord, patchouli prisma, spiced lily, benzoin, vanilla, honey and amber.

With respect to the olfactory experience, Sensuous Noir opens on a combination of floral accords, followed quickly by a mild spicy side, which eventually dries down into a woody-ambery base. The persistence is a little less than expected, which makes re-application an imperative. The flacon that contains the essence is borrowing some sensual curves from a woman’s silhouette, reprising the theme present in 2008’s sensuous, except this time a violet color scheme was employed. Overall, Sensuous Noir might be your fragrance to wear, in case you found yourself out of inspiration.
