Launched one year after the feminine version, Beyond Paradise Men was introduced by Estée Lauder in 2004. The fragrance belongs to the woody aromatic olfactory group and was developed by perfumer Calice Becker.
As the name implies and similar to the feminine counterpart, the structure of this scent may be described as a fusion between exotic ingredients and woody notes. Beyond Paradise Men top notes are Eden’s mist, Jabuticaba fruit and Eden buchu; its heart is lavender absolute, Provence sage, cistus, thyme and tarragon; and its base is golden melaleuca, Eden vetiver, beach wood, oakmoss and patchouli.
Beyond Paradise Men follows the success of Beyond Paradise and it seems to be a fragrance hard to get by these days, because it is only available in some online perfumery retailers. This masculine exploration of the senses is invigorating and with a sensual facet. When I tested it on my skin I noticed the fruity opening, which advances into a floral mid development and dries down to a woody and warm accord. The problem with Beyond Paradise Men is the fact that this scent almost vanishes after approximately 5 hours from the first spraying, situation in which you will need a lavish re-application.
The bottle that encloses Beyond Paradise Men is a re-interpretation of the feminine shape of its predecessor, having a silhouette that evokes a drop of water. The color scheme represents a combination of purple, blue and red shade, the final result being something which looks like a sunset.
