Launched one year after the success of its feminine counterpart, Escada Magnetism for Men arrived on the market in 2004, as an oriental woody fragrance developed by perfumer Michel Almairac. Since I was already acquainted with Magnetism and following the suggestion of a feminine friend, I tested Magnetism for Men within a few months subsequent to its release. The conclusion was that I discovered a pleasant, well-behaved scent, taking into account that Magnetism for Men is the type of strong irresistible fragrance which is meant to be exhibited just like an aura. The perfume has a powerful electric character which is impossible to be ignored.
The temperament of Magnetism for Men might be as well assimilated to an aphrodisiac, due to its mysterious and sensual facets. The structure imagined by Mr. Almairac is built around spices and woods that confer the scent that warm and enchanting aroma. Magnetism for Men opens on a blend of schinus and the most precious and most expensive spice, saffron. Later, in the mid development, the mixture is accompanied by notes of cedar, sandalwood and leather, for developing a warmer, more personal side. In the base notes, the combination between Tolu balm amber and musk represents a dry down that could be defined as utterly euphoric.
The bottle that holds Magnetism for Men looks as if was carved from a slab of purple obsidian, topped by a metallic stopper and having the upper rims from the same material that radiates pure energy. Overall, this fragrance will please the self-assured independent man, who is constantly looking to attract all the attention upon him.
