Developed by Francois Demachy, the manager of olfactory development department from LVMH (who is also the main perfumer of Dior), Eaudemoiselle from Givenchy represents a chypre floral fragrance for women, launched in 2010. Aimed at filling the gap between the traditional and the modern style and in the same time the perfect choice for the young and contemporary women, Eaudemoiselle symbolizes the Givenchy tradition though the chosen bottle which is inspired by the retro design.
Eaudemoiselle comes in a simple flask, made from transparent ribbed glass that reveals a liquid having the distinct hue of the champagne. The packaging box exhibits a portrait gallery of young women, captured in black and white that brings to mind the mute elegance present in the aristocratic portrays from the last century. This is also matching with the core values of Eaudemoiselle, which are represented by tradition and vintage couture.
Eaudemoiselle has a nice projection in time that reminds me of the classic fragrances from Givenchy. The opening is a blend of citrus accords from tangerine and Amalfi lemon, adorned with basil. The middle notes feature floral aromas of Rose and ylang-ylang, which eventually dry down to an utter spicy character obtained from musk, Tonka bean and ambrette. The creator, Francois Demachy described the fragrance as ‘an imaginary rose in a dewy morning’.
The video advertisement features the Polish model Magdalena Frackowiak, who portrays a woman with a refined look mixed with innate elegance. She desires to liberate herself from the morals of her famous ancestors in order to follow her instincts. The long, black cape gives an innovative look in a world dominated by uniformity.
