Every new fragrance announced by Tommy Hilfiger represents a point of interest for me, by association with a brand which is became one of my favorites over the years (well, not so much lately, but anyway). As a consequence, while reading about the launch of Eau de Prep Tommy Girl (introduced in October 2011), it aroused my interest naturally.
Last weekend I finally had the chance to test it and unfortunately this homage to Tommy Girl represents the type of fragrance which is a little softer than I expected, a conclusion that places it in the category of well-behaved scents and nothing more. This feminine floral fruity fragrance is aimed at the modern girl, as a prefect accessory for an elegant young woman and as my wife was helping me with the test I noticed that the perfume is barely perceptible in the 20 minutes that follow the initial spraying (it’s true that I have only sprayed once, but even so, this is quite unusual).
Eau de Prep Tommy Girl opens on a spicy-fruity blend composed of Granny Smith apple, violet and pink pepper. Then, as the top notes evaporate, you will be greeted by the heart, in a subtle aroma of Rose. Much later, within a couple of hours, the construction dries down to a woody base, which makes it more perceivable due to the combination of sandalwood, white musk and hawthorn.
The bottle in which Eau de Prep Tommy Girl was presented has a very elegant look, being manufactured from transparent glass and decorated with Tommy Hilfiger’s blazon. The golden cap is also adorned by a nice textile pattern which is also present on the packaging box (this one sporting a pleasant red color scheme), while the liquid is colorless. The video commercial is associated with young people, freedom and good times, elements that have turned into a tradition for Tommy Hilfiger advertising campaigns.
