Fragrance Review

With an atmosphere inspired by the magnificent capital of the , London was presented by Dunhill in 2008 as a masculine fragrance. Described on the official website with the tagline “the signature scent”, this perfumer “defines masculine elegance through a meeting of quintessential appeal with modern desirability”. Furthermore, the target audience was also revealed, as a category represented by “any gentleman that embraces his surroundings, exudes his personality, and embodies the city in which he lives”.

Since at that time I was not interested in any of the Dunhill scents (I guess, Custom, my favorite fragrance from Dunhill was still preparing to be launched!) I tested London with uncertainty, to discover in the end a well-behaved fragrance that sits nicely on the skin and is more pleasant compared to the large majority of the current masculine scents. The listed ingredients in London include red , jasmine, rose, patchouli, geranium, , vanilla, musk and Tonka bean.

The face selected to appear in the advertisement campaign is the British actor , famous for playing an important part in Showtime’s “The Tudors”. The video commercial is shot in a hue which matches the color employed for the liquid and showcases the beautiful city with all its landmarks. London comes in a bottle with rectangular shapes and perfectly cut edges. The transparent glass reveals a liquid with a blue-grey shade and is topped by a silver cap. The packaging box has a color scheme that is inspired by UK’s flag and overall, London is characterized by elegance.
