Available since November 2008, Dunhill Black is a masculine fragrance belonging to the woody aromatic olfactory group and representing the perfect image of masculinity and elegance from the famous British brand. As mentioned by one of the officials of this brand, two of the ingredients employed in Dunhill Black’s structure, more precisely the green nettle and suede act interesting because: “nettles have the potential to sting if they aren’t approached with care. Suede on the other hand, is yielding and tactile. The result is modern seduction”.
As a perfume that I tested exactly in the month of its apparition, Dunhill Black is matching my idea of an elegant masculine fragrance, appropriate for both day and evening wear. Its presentation was made taking into account all the details that matter and the result is more than pleasant. The flacon with rectangular shapes is simple and elegant, topped by a silver stopper that exudes class, while the packaging box takes the color scheme from the name and mixes with a golden hue that is meant to evoke the traffic lights in the city of London.
Dunhill Black is fronted by the British actor Henry Cavill (who was also the image of London, launched on that very year!) and the resulting video advertisement (shot in London at night) is simply irresistible. Dunhill Black’s top notes are composed of only one ingredient: green nettle accord; its heart is jasmine and lavender; and its base notes are suede note, Guaiac wood and cedar wood.
