“Smells like apples” and “The Big Apple” and 2 phrases that capture the essence of DKNY Be Delicious Men. The fragrance from Donna Karan was introduced in 2005, as a woody aromatic developed by perfumers Olivier Gillotin and Pierre Negrin.
A little bothered by the shape of its bottle (at that time I could not find it masculine, today I’m over this marketing-oriented judgment that cares about the flask!) I sampled DKNY Be Delicious Men a couple of month subsequent to its release. I’m not a fan of Donna Karan, but I’m a fanatic of NYC and I imagined this scent as a tribute to this spectacular metropolis.
On the official website, the description mentions “for a man with smooth, sexy confidence” and just one look is all that it takes to convince you into testing it. From the outset, the initial accords in DKNY Be Delicious Men are reminiscent of a beautiful spring morning in the city. The notes of green apple, coffee granite and citrus are absolutely enchanting. Then, as the perfume enters slowly into the mid development, a strong aroma of pomarose apple (a powerful fruity rose odor that reminds of apples, plums and raisins) was employed, alongside the distinct note of coffee absolute. To close this olfactory journey, DKNY Be Delicious Men turns woody, because the base is imbued with notes like applewood, coffeewood and dark woods.
DKNY Be Delicious Men comes in a bottle that looks like an apple, exhibits an amber-shaded liquid, visible though the transparent glass and is decorated with a sticker that says “100% Pure New York” just like a fresh fruit from the market. Overall, DKNY Be Delicious Men is ideal for the spring and summer period of the year.
