The fragrance The One for Men, introduced by Dolce&Gabbana in 2008, benefited from a flanker, introduced in September 2010. Coming with a very inspired name, The One Gentleman, this re-interpretation of the classic represents a masculine oriental fougere. I managed to test the fragrance last year, in February and if it wasn’t for other priorities, I would have bought it immediately.
The One Gentleman is a perfume for a refined customer, capable to handle all the problems appeared throughout his complicated existence. The scent opens on a pungent blend of citrus and spices, with grapefruit and pepper. The heart of The One Gentleman contains sophisticated notes of lavender, fennel and cardamom. And for the dry down, a warm mixture of patchouli and sweet vanilla is revealed. This fragrance feels elegant, but in a different, very alluring way. It is a nicely composed, in order to offer an advanced side to the original.
The bottle that holds The One Gentleman is replicating the shape of the classic, this time the transparent bottle reveals a soft blue liquid and that completes excellent its massive and stylish form. The stopper comes in a grey-blue hue that is meant to suggest wood. As with the original from this line, the American actor Matthew McConaughey is featured in the video commercial, which was intended as a tribute to Fellini’s classic “La Dolce Vita”. The One Gentleman offers you a sentiment of self-confidence, rarely encountered in the latest year’s releases.
