Presented in August 2008 as the soft version of 2006’s The One, this new flanker is called L’Eau The One and according to the description mentioned in the official website, is “a seductively warm oriental floral, but with a new fresher and fruitier appeal”.
Fronted by the American actress and model Scarlett Johansson in a video commercial directed by the famous French fashion photographer and video music director Jean-Baptiste Mondino, and having as original soundtrack the music composed by Ennio Morricone, this fragrance benefitted from an impeccable image from the very beginning.
From the olfactory point of view, L’Eau The One preserved the majority of the notes encountered in the original The One, while transforming the rest into a composition that might be described as a charming eau de toilette. As a result, the opening contains an invigorating accord of bergamot, coupled with note of mandarin and juxtaposed to lychee and peach. Then, as the initial notes subside the scent advances slowly into its mid development phase, the “mouth-watering” accord are unveiled, embodied by accords of plum, offset by floral muguet, jasmine and Madonna lily. When this construction settles down and begins the dry down, you will be able to detect a warm note of amber, sensual musk, combined with oakmoss, vanilla and vetiver.
The flacon that contains L’Eau The One is a reinterpretation of the presented with the original fragrance, except this time the employed color scheme was silver. Overall, this perfume is ideal for a chic, audacious and provocative woman, embodied perfectly by Scarlet Johansson.
