While testing Dior Homme Intense in 2008, I was convinced by the capacity of the fragrance. However, it was not until the end of last year when, subsequent to sniffing its re-interpreted version launched in 2011, I thought of adding it to my perfume wardrobe. The first edition seemed interesting for me, except it lacked the appeal that influenced in its latest version.
Dior Homme Intense 2007 is a flanker for Dior Homme, which was introduced in 2005. The scent belongs to the floral woody musk olfactory group and was developed by Dior house perfumer Francois Demachy. The presentation employed 50 ml bottles, as limited edition of the original. What influenced me from the start was its intense facet, like a dark side of Dior Homme. But since I do not need many evening perfumes in my collection, I never regarded it as an acquisition.
The construction of Dior Homme Intense 2007 mixes the sensual grace of iris with a woody base to create a sophisticated Eau de Parfum. The fragrance begins with Tuscan iris which confers it an elegant sensuality. Then, the heart is revealed, built with ambrette of Ecuador as the dominant note and finally, the dry down features notes of Virginia cedar for a personal touch.
The bottle that holds Dior Homme Intense 2007 is a replica of the original, in which the perfectly cut shapes represent a statement of elegance, while the image is excellently completed by the packaging box in a dominant black chromatic. The face selected to represent the fragrance is the English actor Jude Law, who is fronting the entire Dior Homme line. Overall, Dior Homme Intense 2007 is an interesting fragrance, but if I would have to choose, I would stick to its 2011 edition.
