Fragrance Review

Different from the perfume with the same name launched in 2007, Homme Cologne is the most recent masculine fragrance from the house of . Arrived on the market in February 2013, this could be described as a well behaved scent, due to development of Dior’s master perfumer, .

Sadly, subsequent to sampling Dior Homme Collogne in , I would depict it like a plain luxury citrus, which could not stand a chance without the name Dior attached to it. More on that later, but what I meant was that it is pleasant and well behaved but that is about it.

Dior Homme Cologne starts off with a pungent citrus accord (Calabrian bergamot) that extends itself all the way until dry down. The mid development is reserved for a delicate facet (Italian grapefruit blossom) and prepares the atmosphere for the sensuality unveiled in the dry down and extreme dry down (thanks to the accords of white musk). These notes might all constitute premises for a remarkable perfume, except this is not happening. As for the persistence, at least on my skin, the scent vanished within a couple of hours.

The flacon chosen to enclose this fresh essence exhibits the same theme from Dior’s latest male perfumery. The perfectly cut edges are fine complemented by a pale blue hue, while the ubiquitous white shade appears on the stopper. Similar to other previous perfumes by Dior, the English actor was selected to embody the perfume’s image. However, up to the date when I wrote this post, he was not featured in the first commercial, which presented a minimalistic image for the new fragrance.

Overall, I’m convinced that Dior Homme Cologne will appeal to all fans of the French house, however if originality is something you’re after, perhaps it would be better to search it in another place.
