A masculine scent, which turned into a classic (at least due to its age!), Higher was introduced in 2001, as a woody aromatic developed by perfumers Olivier Gillotin and Olivier Pescheux. This represents the type of clean fragrance that’s appropriate in any occasion, or, as portrayed in the official website “a surprising woody aromatic fragrance created for the modern urban man who lives in the present moment yet incarnates eternal masculinity.”
As soon as you spray Higher over your skin you will detect the presence of pear accord, present in the top notes alongside the aroma of basil. Then, in approximately 20 minutes, Higher unveils its spicy facet, in which the note of cardamom plays the major part; for a balanced composition rosemary and cypress were employed as well. The final part of this structure is the time in which the fragrance turns warmer and more personal, thanks to the strong note of cedarwood, mixed with pear wood and musk. The entire structure of Higher is based on a few ingredients that produce the desired effect: a perfume which is suitable for a daily wearing occasion, except the fact that this is not my favorite from Dior.
The bottle that holds Higher has a rectangular shape and is made from transparent glass, revealing a colorless liquid. This image is meant to suggest the source of inspiration for the perfume, the urban male who needs a shot of energy in order to be able to surpass everyday’s challenges of the city.
