Announce as the summer edition for the classic duo called Fuel for Life from 2007, the flankers were introduced by Diesel in 2010 as a fragrant pair (just like in the case of the original), which included Fuel for Life Summer Pour Elle (a fruity floral) and Fuel for Life Summer Pour Lui a woody aquatic.
Since this Diesel line of perfumes did not seemed quite appealing for me, I was for a period reluctant to a possible test however after taking into consideration all the aspects, I decided to give it a try. The first thing that is obvious in relation to this fragrance is the bottle, in a manifest shade of blue that looks as if it was recently introduced into a box of paint. Then, after passing the first impression on Fuel For Life Summer Pour Lui, I started to analyze its olfactory structure.
The construction in this fragrance exhibits the classic olfactory pyramid with the top, heart and base notes and the curious thing in here is that only one (sic!) ingredient was employed for each phase. Therefore, the opening is represented by the unmistakable aroma of star anise, followed slowly in the mid development by an accord which I can not detected (the listed note says frozen water, but as I’m pretty sure, even the frozen water has no smell!) and much later by the green note of vetiver.
Overall, this limited edition fragrance will please the fans of the original, in search of something different for the summer.
